Are you are concerned about the environment, and the effects of harsh cleaning chemicals? Or do you worry that pressure washing might damage your valuable, delicate, stone outdoor features? If the answer is yes to either of these questions, then this blog may well give you the peace of mind to confidently call on the expert help of your local exterior cleaning company, Supreme Exterior Clean. Why? Because we use Softwashing and sensitive cleaning processes which are the ingenious alternatives to old fashioned ‘one size fits all’ pressure washing.
We, too, are environmentally conscious, and want to protect the surfaces we are called upon to clean. Not to damage or destroy them with the wrong products and processes. And from an efficiency perspective, Softwashing uses about one third of the water that pressure washing requires.
Softwashing, as its name suggests, is based on the principle of using a low-pressure cleaning technique. It was initially designed specifically for roof cleaning, as it was effective enough, but at the same time gentle enough to avoid damaging roof tiles. Pressure washing was also known to blast the dirt, moss or lichens growing on the roof, literally blowing them away and enabling them to regrow elsewhere. But Softwashing gets beneath the growth, right to the roots, and stops the roots from taking hold. In fact, it’s more like a pest control than a power wash, so it’s more often referred to as a treatment than a clean.
We now use SoftWash to clean other outdoor surfaces. From roofs to render, and wooden decking to windows, this process is extremely efficient and effective. You will see high quality results from a low impact, cost effective technique, which is why we are so proud to be recognised as the only SoftWash Systems authorised company in the North East.
During our Softwashing process, we also use water-based, biodegradable chemicals to break down the dirt and grime, and to kill off mould, mildew, algae, and bacteria. The chemical wash is applied with low pressure and is left to work into the surface to thoroughly clean and treat the area. We leave nothing but a sanitised surface, so regrowth is minimised, and the surface will stay clean and protected for four to six times longer than with traditional pressure washing.
Supreme Exterior Clean also work in association with Stonehealth Ltd. As an approved expert Stonehealth operator, we offer the best in sensitive cleaning services across the North East and West Midlands.
Our specialist DOFF cleaning system uses superheated water (150 degrees) which is dispersed under low pressure to meticulously clean, yet still protect, all your stone works and sensitive surfaces.
We can remove graffiti and paint damage, organic growth, and staining from historic structures as well as new constructions. And our sensitive cleaning techniques allow us to do so whilst always being conscious of preserving the façade of the building, as well as the surroundings.
The Stonehealth TORC system works by creating a gentle ‘swirling vortex’ using a nozzle to expel a mixture of low air pressure, a little water, and a fine powder (‘granulate’). This abrasive mixture then gently cleans away limescale, graffiti and brittle paints, moss, algae, and other organic growth, without causing any unnecessary damage or destruction of the sensitive surfaces.
National Heritage and other similar organisations MUST use Stonehealth products and techniques, as they are the market leaders and experts in sympathetic cleaning, preservation, and restoration of such sites. And here at Supreme Exterior Clean, we are proud to be able to offer this same premier quality of service to our customers.
